THE ART ON WHEELS CONTEST
Triage Wines owns a fleet of 5 delivery vans - 2 in Portland, OR and 3 in Seattle, WA.  They currently navigate the regions around each city in unsung, lonely, forlorn anonymity with no logo or indication that they are part of the Triage Wines family.  We want to change this!
 

PAINT OUR VANS!!!

We want our vans to not only tell the world that they are transporting our delicious wines, but to do so in a way that expresses our philosophy (and, maybe, even with a sense of humor). How could we possibly accomplish this?  We know... find a group of brilliant, talented artists to transform our vans into moving art!
 
While our logo is lovely and all, we want people to know that our business is about promoting natural wines, often farmed by organic or biodynamic methods, which are hand made and express the heritage and specificity of the place from which they come.  The logo simply doesn't say all of that - but we think there are some wine-loving masterful artists out there who can!
 

THE CONTEST

We are looking for FIVE local artists to design images for and then to paint our vans.  Both sides and the back need to be painted, though the entire van can be painted if the artist chooses.  Minimum dimensions for painting will be agreed upon, but, in general should be about 9'x6' for the sides and 5'x5' for the back. Vans are Dodge Sprinter model, similar to what is shown here:
 
               
 
(NOTE: In Portland, our vans are both white; In Seattle, two are red and one is green)
 
Interested artists can submit sketches via email to us here.  All applicants must include their name and phone number as well. Only applicants age 21 and over in the Seattle and Portland metro areas will be considered.  Entries must be received no later than March 15, 2010, and work will take place between April and September 2010.
 
FIVE artists will be chosen - one for each van.  Each winner will have three days to complete their work (between a Friday evening and a Monday evening when the vans are not in use for deliveries). We will determine a mutually agreed upon set of dates and location for the work to be done.  
 

OUR OBLIGATION (WHAT YOU WIN)

In addition to getting your art toured around Washington and Oregon on our vans, we will also award each winning artist with $350 in wine, selected from our portfolio.  In addition, Triage wines will provide $100 to each artists toward materials (you are welcome to spend more or less, of course, but our contribution is limited to $100).
 

WINNERS' OBLIGATION (THE RULES)

Winners will be provided with a clean van.  They agree to use acrylic enamel or similar paints appropriate for painting vehicles, provide the same or minimally altered image which they originally submitted, and to complete the work within the allotted time.  We hope, of course, the work will be signed, too.
 
 
PLEASE NOTE: This is a promotional activity for Triage Wines and the winning artists.  We fully recognize that our prize may not appeal to some, but we know there are many wine-loving artists out there who will take us up on our invitation.
